Climbing the Pisco mountain (4 days/3 nights)

Nevado Pisco is situated in one of the most central regions of Cordillera Blanca and the landscapes of mountains around are exuberant. During the ascent you can see diverse mountains and peaks as the Huandoy, the Chacraraju, the Alpamayo and the Huascarán.

Description Climbing the Pisco mountain

Day 1 : Huaraz - Cebollapampa - Pisco base camp

We drive from Huaraz to Cebollapampa. Then our gear is loaded onto the donkeys and we climb on a good path to Pisco Base Camp (4650m). There is a refugio there where you can buy beer, wine and hot food. Rest in the afternoon or belay practise session.

Day 2 : Pisco base camp - Moraine camp

We climb to Moraine Camp (4900m). The donkeys cannot come this way. You need to carry your personal gear, clothes and sleeping bag, and help to carry the tents and food would be appreciated.

Day 3 : Summit Day

We climb 40 minutes on moraine until we reach the glacier where we put on crampons and rope up. About 5 hours to the summit. There is a short steep section of around 60m of parrette which we will help you with. We may fix a rope for the ascent of this section and you need to belay to descend. The rest of the way is not very steep or difficult.

From the summit fantastic views of the close by peaks of Huascarán (6768m), Chopicalqui (6354m), Huandoy (6160m), Pirámide (5885m), Artesonraju (6025m). Descend to Moraine Camp, collect our gear and return to base camp.

Day 4 : Pisco base camp - Cebollapampa - Huaraz

Walk down to Cebollapampa and return to Huaraz.
