Day 1: CUSCO - CALCA - AGUAS TERMALES LARES - HUACAWASI

We leave from Cusco early in the morning by bus and travel through the Sacred Valley approximately 1 hour to reach  Pisac (3,350 mts) where we  will proceed on directly to the ruins before returning for a short stop at Pisac and its famous market. We will then continue on to Lares (3,250 mts) Optional  Hot Springs and enjoy some time soaking in the medicinal hot springs, after lunch we have four hours of trek to our campsite above  Huacawasi (3,850 mts)

Day 2: HUACAWASI - EPSAYCOCHA

After continuing up through the valley, we arrive to the community of Huacawasi. People here produce some of the finest weavings in Peru. Passing this community  we begin climbing up to Condor Pass, the second of the trip at 4300m. From here, we catch a stunning view of the renowned Mount Veronica (5,750m.) Descending gently for about one hour, we come to the beautiful Epsaycocha Lake, and our last campsite.

Day 3: EPSAYCOCHA - HUILLOQ - PUMAMARKA - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

Today our trail leads downhill to an overlook facing a wide valley. Descending into the valley, we eventually arrive to the administrative Pumamarka Inca site and enjoy our deep guide tour. We stop here for a lunch.

We continue the hike for an hour and half to arrive Ollantaytambo. This Inca fortress is situated in a fertile river valley and sheltered by mammoth mountains, this ancient Inca village is considered one of the most important living museums in the world. This is a perfect place to appreciate the vast archaeological remains and a wide variety of flowers and birds species. We  take  the  afternoon train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and spends the night there in a comfortable hostel.

Day 4: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU

After an early breakfast, we take the first  bus to Machupicchu (5:30 am), to give us the where we will be able to see sunrise and  for our guided visit of Machu Picchu. Built by the Inca Pachacutec and comprising stone blocks fitted with masterful precision that harmoniously blends into the mountain landscape. There are many theories as to the origins behind Machu Picchu but three of the most popular ideas include a temple to the sun, a fortress against the jungle inhabitants or a sanctuary for the Incas. This fabulous city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps, and is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side which were used for agriculture.

After the tour, free time to enjoy this magical and spiritual wonder. Opportunity for a trek (approx 1 hour) up to the Sungate (Intipunku), which is a part of the Inca Trail, for a magical view of the sanctuary or climb up to Huaynapicchu Mt.
After, we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will have free time to enjoy the town and have a lunch before we return to Cusco.

Optional: You can enjoy the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes before you return to Cusco.
