Peru tours and excursions to the Titicaca lake of Puno
Situated at a height of 3810 metres above sea level, the Lake Titicaca is considered the highest navigable lake in the world. It has a maximum depth of 280 metres, allowing ships of any draft to navigate its waters. It is located in the Eastern part of the Department of Puno in Peru, and in the Western sector of the Department of La Paz, in Bolivia. Its waters are shared by both countries, being the main means of communications between them, although more than half of the 8300 square kilometres of its surface corresponds to Peru.
