Lares valley trekking (4 days/3 nights)

For those who prefer to make a less crowded trekking and wish to discover folklor and history of the ancient inca-empire, we have a special four day trail through the Lares valley. This trail has unique landscapes through beautiful valleys and lakes.

Description Lares valley trekking

Day 1: Cuzco - Huarán - Cancha Cancha pampa 

By bus we go to the starting point of this trek- an ancient hacienda situated in the sacred valley in the village of Huaran (2,830 mtr above sealevel). We will hike for approximately 5 hours. On the road we take a brief rest in order to lunch and finally we reach the pampa of Cancha Cancha (3,800 m.a.s.l.) at 4 'o clock p.m. Here we place the tent and we enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Cancha Cancha pampa - Chihuapampa - Kishuarani

After breakfast we begin the climb to the first pass, Pachacutec (4,200 m.a.s.l.) where you can see the marvellous views over the glaciers and small lakes of the mountains of Pachacutec and Pitusiray. From here we start to descent until we reach the lake of Chihuapampa where we have our lunch. Afterwards we continue our hike along the waterfall of Canchispaqcha to our camp at Kishuarani (3,700 m.a.s.l.).

Day 3: Kishuarani - Kkochuyckaza - Concani

From Kishuarani we start to climb for about 3 hours. At the lake of Queñacocha we prepare us in order to continue to the second pass, Kkochuyckaza (4,240 m.s.a.l.). Here you can see the beautiful -with snow covered- mounts and lake of Huillke (3,960 m.a.s.l.). We enjoy the lunch at the lake. Afterwards we descent to our basecamp of Concani (3,800 m.a.s.l.).

Day 4: Concani - Lares - Cuzco

From here we arrive at the hotwater springs near Lares, where we arrive after an easy walk of 2 ½ hours. We continue our trip to the village of Lares where we take the to Cuzco via the village of Calca (about 5 hrs).
