Dear Joost, Thank your for your follow through on my hotel cancellation. We have been enjoying the trip, however, we have had two very anxious experiences with the local tour guide in Cuzco. We were met at the airport in Cuzco by Jennie, very pleasant. She told us where the agency office was, but did not give us her card or other information as to the location of the office.
We did not hear from the agency, and Sunday night we had to do some detective work to find the office , and get phone numbers for the agency. We called, and he said that he would be at our hotel at 5:30 AM next day. He did not arrive until 6:00AM with our tickets for Macchu Picchu. At that time we asked about the arrangements for the following day, the eight hour bus trip to Puno. He told us not to worry. We called him, and a taxi arrived at 7:30 AM, and thankfully, the driver spotted the bus en route to Puno and flagged him down. The driver made a uturn and we boarded.
We would like to recommend your tours to friends as we have enjoyed the tour so far. We suggest that, in future, you give tourists the following info: names, addresses and telephone numbers of the agency who represent you in each city. We almost missed the bus to Puno and the train to Macchu Picchu. We do want to end on a positive note, and tell you that we have learned alot from the tour guides, and that they have always been helpful and pleasant.
